It's a .....

So, here is my first attempt at making a video with my camera....

We are so excited! It is amazing that we don't have to think of girl names at all! For those of you who don't know, we didn't know Elijah was a boy until he was born, and this time I am really glad we know! I just love all my guys!!!! Any cute name ideas?

AND.... Monday, Elijah just kept taking his diaper off! He role-plays using the bathroom all the time, and I knew it would come to this. So, for family night, right after the ultrasound, we bought him some underwear! I've had some things scheduled, so he's been practicing in pull-ups until now, but now he has his first underwear on...Thomas the Train! He has peed in the toilet like 6 times in the last two days, so I think that is great. He has had some relapses with staying in bed, but for the most part they are short-lived. Hopefully they will fade away forever soon!

Fun Weekend in Michigan!

Hello! This weekend we visited Phil's sister Amy, her husband Steve, and their 3 kids, who live in Rochester Hills, Michigan. We were so blessed to get awesome driving weather both ways. We had fun watching the kids play, exercising, attending the Temple, playing a card game named "Guillotine," and enjoying Amy's gourmet meals. Yum Yum!
This is a picture of all the kids: Elise (7), Elijah (2), Lindsey (5), and Addison (almost 2). The dog's name is Goliath, and Elijah had a great time chasing him and learning some commands. This is one patient dog! Elijah and Elise also had lots of fun together. Elise even let him hold her hand! He always wants to hold girls' hands but they always reject him, poor guy.
It was a fabulous trip...until Sunday night, when Elijah, acting VERY tired because he had no nap, projectile vomited while in my arms. He continued to throw up a few more times that night and just couldn't sleep very well. Phillip also had been feeling a little weird, but by the time morning came, he had thrown up several times himself. Why I have been spared, I have no idea! But, once Elijah was able to keep down some Gatorade, he began to sleep and then began to recover and seems fine now, although doesn't have much of an appetite. Phil slept over 10 hours last night, and was a little concerned about his nauseousness when he realized he had his cadaver lab today instead of the non-stinky, non-hands-on lab. But, all in all, it was a fabulous weekend!
Here is the picture I couldn't download before of Elijah's first night staying in his bed to fall asleep. He's now done it successfully since (in his own bed). I am just amazed!

VICTORY!

Wow! Leave it to me to wait a month and half to post anything, and then to do two in one day! But....I could actually count the number of times I had to take Elijah back to his room tonight...ZERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of him! I could tell he was trying to relax while we read stories and sang songs, and then he just laid (grammar help here?) down and went to sleep! Yeah! I took a picture, but...I'm having issues posting it. Maybe next time! Good night!

It's been a while!

Hello everyone! This last month and a half has been awesome! We went to Utah for Christmas, and that event was just DREAMY and filled our hearts with so much love and joy! I think it was my best Christmas ever because I have always taken for granted the living, breathing, huggable people I have always shared Christmas with. But I didn't take it for granted this year. I just kept looking over at people and thinking, "I'm right here. I really am. Right next to them!" It just felt so good to all of us. Elijah had a blast with each of his grandparents and was totally comfortable with all the family! And Phil just basked...in family, and in being away from school! Far FAR away, for just a little while.

BUT, now that were back at the ranch, life is as busy as ever. I am trying to nip this keeping-Elijah-in-the-toddler-bed thing once and for all. And I'm exercising with Sam Rayburn (a wonderful friend here in Morgantown!) We are toying with the idea of selling our car and getting a minivan. Phil has his first anatomy test this Friday, and then we are going to Michigan for the weekend, since Monday is a holiday! Fun times for our family!

A week from Monday we find out if baby #2 is a boy or a girl! Be sure to check in!
